Contests Last updated:Aug.20,1998
Can you QRV from your own shack? I can't do it at all from my rabbit's hut...
So I enjoy contest (cause it can make many QSOs in a short time) from the open air.

Jan.24 - 25 : CQWW-160m
Cause of so heavy wind, I could not set an antenna as usual. But, luckily, I could
get a call-back from 9K2MU even with low-power! 80QSO(7s,12c) included 45 JAs.

Jan.10 - 11 : JIDX-LFCW
I'd built an I.L. with 40 radials. It was rain throuth the contest, but not so bad
cause of better condition than that of last year. 43QSO(22c,14z) at low-power 160m.

Dec.6 - 8 : ARRL-160m
97ARRL160m
I'd challenged a 300m-length Beverage for the first time,
but it had run for only long-wire... The antenna for transmit
was also I.L. with 38 radial elements. 30QSO(15m) at
low-power cat.

Can you see the 300m long-wire? hi

Nov.29 - Dec.1 : CQWW CW
97CQWWCW
I'd entried to SOP low power 160 again. The antenna was I.L.
with 38 radial elements (same as of CQ160), and it had a
part of 20m-height vertical section for the first time. It ran well
for transmit, but not for receive... Especially bad for W/VE.
53QSO(26c 18z) at L160 cat.

Nov.2 : Uklainian DX
I'd enjoyed the ALL OSAKA contest on 160, and had been free in the daytime. So I had made a little QSO
on 15 CW with I.V. for 160... 14QSO(12m) on 15CW cat.

Apr.28 - 29 : ALL JA
97ALLJA-197ALLJA-2
It's the JA domestic contest, and every year I QRV for it on 6 CW. Last year I was beaten by JR3EOI/3 again, but
no idea had come to me to beat him. Almost to start, far from that, one of the tubes in my linear amplifier (6146B-pp)
rush into bad with overcurrent... In a hurry I put off a 6146B from my another transceiver TS830, and could
overcome against the serious problem. 315QSO(38m)
And I can see my callsign in the result on the JARL News, with marked #1 in JA!! Fantastic!!
I think the condition in JA1 was not so good at that time, luckily.
The left JPG shows that serious scene, and the right one shows the 'DRAG' for win...

Apr.12 - 14 : JIDX-CWHF

On Saturday my friend JK3GWT had made 150 QSOs
while I had been working my occupation. I had built up
a 4-ele on the field at Sunday morning, and started to
run after him on the same band (15 CW).
Very good conditions had come to us for EU/AF
in the afternoon instead of the bad one for W/VE
in the morning. 266QSO(53c, 21z) at L15 cat.
(JK3GWT made 299QSO)

This leaned antenna makes good signal to EU/AF.

Jan.25 - 27 : CQWW-160m
97CQ160-197CQ160-2
The condition between W and JA was not so good as it in 96-CQ160, but it between EU and JA
was very good! The antenna with 38 radial elements ran well even with low-power, and had made
91QSO(24c, 9s) include 46 JAs.
Can you see the radial elements in both JPGs?
VQ9SS:56 sec on RealAudio -- very strong in JA!
JY9QJ:27 sec on RealAudio -- with 160's own QSB

Jan.11 - 12 : JIDX-CWLF
97JILFCW
I had built up an antenna with 26 radial elements
with thinking 'Is it the limit from the open air?'
But no good conditions had come to us, and I could
make only 10QSO(5z, 6c) at L160 cat.
I'd wasted more than 2 hours to clear up the elements.

The JPG shows the feed point of the I.L.
